Trading Status
Pause Trading
Pausing stops the engine opening any new positions, immediately — no restart needed. Every open position keeps its broker-side stop-loss and its take-profit management, so winners still exit at their targets and losers still exit at their stops. Once Open Positions reaches 0 the book is flat and it's safe to stop the engine. Resuming re-enables new entries on the next signal.
Close All Positions
For when you need to be flat now rather than winding down: pauses trading, cancels all resting orders, then closes every open position at market. Unrealised losses are realised immediately. Crypto closes 24/7; equity market orders placed outside market hours queue until the next open.
Kill Switch
The emergency stop. Activating it immediately halts ALL new order submission across every market and asset class and cancels every resting order at the brokers — including protective stops and take-profits (with FLATTEN_ON_KILL set, it closes all positions too). The engine checks this flag on every single order evaluation, and it also trips automatically if the daily loss limit is hit. Once tripped it stays tripped until a human deactivates it here — it never resets itself. For a routine stop, prefer Pause Trading above; the kill switch is for when something is wrong.
